Consulting / Operations, FP&A & Cost Reduction
Not a restaurant? The playbook still works.
Restaurants are the hardest business in the world to make money in. Turn around Burger King's biggest franchisees and build a portfolio of award-winning restaurants, and every other business starts to look a lot more fixable. Zach has done this work for real clients at both ends of the scale: a $100 million franchisee on one end, a single chiropractic office on the other, with gyms, medical practices, home service companies and SaaS businesses in between. The range isn't a pitch. It's the point. The leaks are the same everywhere; only the vocabulary changes.
Core disciplines
The corporate toolkit, for businesses that never had one.
The same disciplines Zach used to turn around Burger King's largest franchisees, sized for an independent restaurant, a medical practice or a 50-unit franchisee.
Operational consulting
How work actually gets done: staffing, scheduling, workflows, standards and accountability. Fix the operation and the P&L follows.
FP&A
Budgets, rolling forecasts, monthly P&L reviews, variance analysis, KPI scorecards and cash flow models. It's how Zach found root causes across Burger King's largest franchisees.
Six Sigma analysis
Root cause analysis across data sets that don't usually talk to each other. Food cost is off, the product mix shifted, reviews mention slow plates and portioning training is overdue: that's one problem, not four. Find it, fix it with a proven protocol, lock in the gain.
CapEx planning for brick and mortar
Remodels, equipment replacement, new units and buildouts, prioritized by payback and ROI, with multi-year capital plans your lender and partners can follow.
Cost reduction
Line-by-line reviews of vendors, contracts, labor, software and overhead. Savings your customers never notice.
Systems and SOPs
The playbooks, manuals, checklists and reports that let a business run without the owner in every decision. See the list
Who we've helped
Different industries. Same leaks.
Every industry below is one we've actually done the work in. Not a target list.
Franchisees and franchisors
From a $100 million multi-unit franchisee to franchisors building out their systems: unit economics, operations playbooks, FP&A, labor models and field accountability. Zach ran Burger King's SWOT Team, turning around its largest franchisees around the world. He knows exactly what a struggling franchise system needs.
Medical and chiropractic practices
Cost reduction without touching patient care: vendor and supply contracts, staffing models, scheduling, overhead and the reporting owners need to see it every month.
Gyms and fitness studios
Membership economics, payroll, class and staff scheduling, retention, pricing and the costs that quietly stack up behind the front desk.
Service businesses
Job costing, pricing, labor productivity, process mapping and the SOPs that let the owner step out of every decision.
SaaS and tech companies
FP&A, budgeting, unit economics, vendor and software spend reviews, and operating cadence for founders scaling past the spreadsheet stage.
Investors and owners
Diligence, pro formas and a hard operator's look at whether a business can deliver the numbers it's promising.

Full finance stack
Bookkeeping, accounting and FP&A, under one roof.

Most businesses we meet have books that are months behind or numbers nobody trusts. This fixes both. You get accounting run to an institutional standard and a monthly conversation about what the numbers mean and what to do next.
Common questions
Business consulting FAQ
How can a restaurant consultant help my medical practice or gym?
Restaurants run on razor-thin margins, perishable inventory and hourly labor. If you can make money there, the cost and process work in most other businesses is familiar territory. And Zach's background before restaurants was corporate finance and process improvement at a global brand.
Where do you usually find savings?
Vendor and supply contracts, staffing that doesn't match demand, software nobody uses, and processes with steps that don't add value. Most businesses we look at have several of these hiding in plain sight.
Do you work with franchisors as well as franchisees?
Yes, both. Franchisees on unit-level profitability and multi-unit operations, franchisors on playbooks, FP&A and field support systems.
